Freakboy's cell's loosely based on the cells at Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia. It was one of the first jails in the world to try using solitary confinement on its inmates. At the time, it was considered a revolutionary concept, designed to turn prisoners into moral people rather than merely punishing them for their crimes.

If you're wondering where Freakboy's sink and bed are, the cell's builders forgot to put them in. Oops. At least he has toilet paper.

Ever wonder where all these weird ideas come from? I just updated the About page with some info on the comic's inspiration.

Link of the Week: Static Skies has a messed-up world where machines are in charge of everything. It has awesome pages of gray cities, and it just hit its one-year mark.

Oh, damn!!

I used to make annual visits to ESP around Halloween time, when they set up a haunted house thing. It's pretty cool then, but I've always wanted to take the daytime tours so I can actually see what I'm walking around and learn more about the place.

@mitchellbravo: It's so cool that you've actually been there. I've only seen pictures of it.

I got interested in old buildings after my trip to St. Augustine last year. I'm not as interested in them now, but it's neat that I got some inspiration for Freakboy's cell out of it.
